moving to the butterfly house
The chrysalises have made the move to the butterfly house. Will we see a butterfly on Monday?
Caterpillars to Chrysalises
The caterpillars have been making their chrysalises. We have two caterpillars that are still crawling around and one hanging in it’s “J shape”. The wait begins anew as we wait for the butterflies to emerge.

Adventurous Caterpillar

This caterpillar escaped it’s cup. I’m glad I found him!!
For the first time in the 17 years that I have been director, we had one caterpillar escape it’s container. I’m thinking this may be one very hungry caterpillar after it’s adventure!! Now I am wondering if I have other escapees in my office. I will need to walk carefully for the next few days.
This table is outside my office so the students could see the caterpillars.
The caterpillar crawled out of it’s container, down the table, across the hallway and started up the wall opposite the table.

The 🐛caterpillars🐛 have arrived!
The painted lady caterpillars have arrived. Today was day two with them at the school. We will be watching them grow and change over the next few weeks. I will post some pictures during that time so we can share our excitement with our families.
There are 40 caterpillars in the original container.
Twenty-eight small containers with one caterpillar in each and two big containers, each holding six caterpillars.

Alternate carline for Wednesday, April 12, 2023
On Wednesday, April 12, 2023 the morning classes will need to use the alternate carline procedure for arrival and dismissal carlines. The afternoon class will need to use the alternate carline procedure for the arrival carline and the regular carline for dismissal.
